Back to the issue at hand, a sail for the Voyageur canoe for the Tip of the Mitt. It appears from all information I could gather a square rigged loose foot sail would be best suited. I am thinking the the KISS methodology is best. Or.
So I will have to dig around the sail loft (garage) and see what I have for fabrication.

With so many paddlers, what in the world will you need a sail for?

I really want to sail a voyager canoe; it's set up with a mast step and receiver so there is some authenticity to the concept of paddle / sailing it.
Bow and steersman working together to keep the shiny side down; flying canvas, barreling down the coast!! wOo hOo!
